A young Thurso man found in possession of illegal images of children will be sentenced next month.
Nathan Campbell admitted on indictment having taken or permitted to be taken photos or pseudo photos of young teenagers between the ages of 13 and 16 years old, between April 18, 2017 and November 14, 2020.
Wick Sheriff Court heard today that police officers who searched the 22-year-old’s home in Thorfinn Terrace, Thurso, on November 18, 2020, recovered a mobile phone belonging to him.
Fiscal David Barclay said that a full forensic examination of it revealed 31 still images depicting erotic posing with no sexual activity.
The indecent images, taken at two addresses in Thurso and elsewhere, were graded as category C, the lowest level in such cases.
Sheriff Krista Johnson continued the case until May 24 when she will hear mitigation and consider a background report before passing sentence on Campbell.
He was meanwhile placed on the sex offenders’ register. His phone was ordered to be forfeit.
